Our New Challenge - Plan, Design, Create, Make and Evaluate

Today we had two challenges...
The first challenge was to work in pairs to create a wearable hat.  Each person had a double sheet of newspaper to use.  The hat had to have an accessory like a feather, flower, or bow (also made from the same double sheet of paper).  It was not allowed to be a folded hat like we have seen in the past (pirate or sailor hat)
At the end of this session the students named their hats and shared them with the group.  The majority of the group succeeded with this challenge.

The second challenge was to work on their own to create a tree, that can stand up on its own.  The brief stated : If the tree is moved to another spot it should still be able to stand.  Each person could only use 4 or less pieces of double sheets of newspaper.
This was a little more challenging as some did not complete it in the time frame and some trees did not stand up once moved.

We had a lot of fun creating these and I am looking forward to the next challenge.
